Penneys recalls children’s plate over chemical contamination concerns

Penneys has recalled children's plates due to major chemical contamination fears. The FSAI is concerned that the children's plates have been contaminated with lead and formaldehyde. The wooden Penneys plates being recalled include the panda, rainbow, and bunny designs. Customers have been asked to return the contaminated products to their nearest Penneys store. People have been urged to stop using the plates immediately. Parents have also been told to keep the plates away from their children. Health effects are not likely, but they have been told to err on a side of caution. The FSAI stated: "Further to FSAI Food Alert 2022.49 Primark is recalling additional children’s plates." "The affected plates may give rise to the possible migration into food of chemicals (lead and formaldehyde)." The FSAI continued, "Health effects are not expected from using these plates."
