When it comes to engagement rings, there's a huge amount of options from solitaire to halo to trilogy to vintage. We could go on but we'll be here all day if listing every type of ring available and nobody has time for that. However, there's one style that's having a moment this year, none other than the pear shape. It makes sense because while we've always known of its existence, it's often overshadowed by halo styles or princess cuts. Not anymore because this elegant and unusual ring style is getting a lot of love this year. In conversation with Who What Wear, jewellery designer Anna Sheffield explained what sets the stunning pear shape apart from all the others.

"The pear shape has always been a beautiful option for the classic but still a bit unconventional bride-to-be.

Anna went on to explain how the pear diamond is formed:

"It's a combination of a marquise cut and a round-faceted stone, a very elegant and intentional shape for a diamond. Also, they can be lighter in carat than they appear, which is a plus!"
