Irish EuroMillions players urged to check tickets as huge jackpot won

A big prize has been won in Ireland.

Lottery bosses have confirmed that the whopper EuroMillions jackpot of €166 million has been won.

The life-changing amount was won by a player in France, however it is also somebody’s lucky day in Ireland.

It was revealed that an Irish player has won €114,649 after correctly picking all five numbers plus one of the two lucky stars.

The winning ticket was confirmed be be sold in Co. Kildare and is one of over 53,000 players in Ireland who won EuroMillions prizes.

While the top prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw was not won, 47 players won €2,000 each by matching four of the five numbers, with 10 players winning €5,000 each in the Ireland Only raffle draw.

The winning numbers in the main draw are: 13, 22, 24, 33, 47 and Lucky Stars 1 and 5.

The winning numbers in the EuroMillions Plus draw are: 12, 16, 38, 39 and 49.

The Kildare winner should sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe and make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected].

Arrangements will be made for them to visit Lotto HQ to collect their Match 5 and 1 lucky star prize.

National Lottery spokesperson, Sarah Orr, said: “It was certainly a memorable night for a EuroMillions player in Kildare who matched five numbers and one lucky star in the Tuesday night draw to win an incredible €114,649.

“We are encouraging all of our players who may have purchased their Quick Pick tickets on the day of the draw at Dunnes Stores Newbridge on the Moorefield Road to carefully check their tickets today as one player now has a ticket worth €114,649.”

She added: “The Kildare winner took the title of biggest winner in Ireland for last night’s draw. For any players hoping to be the next winner to celebrate a big win, tonight’s Lotto jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €2.8 million.

“Lotto players already dreaming of what they would do as Ireland’s next jackpot winner are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through our app and at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.45pm cut-off time for sales this evening.”
