Saoírse Ruane’s mum pens moving post on graduation day

Saoírse Ruane would have graduated from school this week

The mother of Saoírse Ruane has penned a moving post after attending her late daughter’s graduation mass this week.

Saoírse sadly passed away from cancer earlier this year, but her parents have been paying tribute to her since her untimely passing.

They’re ensuring her memory lives on by sharing memories and milestones on Instagram.

Her mum said the graduation was both wonderful and heartbreaking.

“I won’t lie, it was incredibly heartbreaking. It wasn’t our best moment arriving with one tissue between us but some amazing people were in the wings with the Kleenex.

“We were very taken with how beautiful the mass was & how Saoírse was included,” her mum shared.

She said her classmates spelled out in large letters across a large poster alongside little photos of her friends.

“She was prayed for in the prayers of the faithful & the girls all sang a beautiful rendition of Count on me,” she continued.

Her mum said the tribute was incredibly fitting for her little girl, but it was also harrowing to be there without Saoírse by her side.

“Then as we wiped those tears, there was the daily (yet final) roll call. As each student’s name was called out they stood up & placed their graduation cap on their head. The realisation that Saoírse should be there experiencing this was at times too much.

“Each child was then invited to the alter along with myself to receive the school folder. It was painfully sad to see her little cap sitting beside me, idle & empty but she was by no means left out,” she added.

Her mum said she was incredibly grateful for the education Saoírse Ruane received during her short life.

We’re keeping Saoírse Ruane’s loved ones in our thoughts during this unthinkable time.
