Scientists argue that eating sweet products triggers episodic memories (making you remember what you ate earlier). This can in turn reduce your chances of eating more.
Marise Parent, co-author of the study which was published online in the Hippocampus journal, explained: "We think that episodic memory can be used to control eating behaviour.
"We make decisions like 'I probably won't eat now. I had a big breakfast'. We make decisions based on our memory of what and when we ate."(*They say square, we say bar... baby steps, you know?)
